House Kick Off!

January 28, 2025 was an exciting day at West Springfield Elementary School as we kicked off our House systemMustang House sealEvery student was welcomed to their House and whether it was Ethica, Innovara, Resilio, or Synerix the excitement was jolting.  Students have already begun to earn points for their positive behavior in the cafeteria.

During the kickoff assembly , students not only learned the name of their House, they also learned about its POG (Portrait of a Graduate) attribute, their unique chant and handshake, and were introduced to their House leaders and Corral groups.  Students were also informed about the opportunity to become House student leaders and the process for doing so which varies by grade level to allow every student to access it should they choose to.  Meet the Houses

How can parents help?

Parents can volunteer by SIGNING UP HERE to help us recognize our students in the cafeteria.  We need parents' help to positively recognize students who demonstrate cafeteria expectations and positive behavior, allowing them to earn House points. We can’t wait to see you in the cafeteria!

What is Houses?

The House system is a positive behavior strategy in which students are grouped into teams known as Houses.  The House system provides students with a sense of belonging by allowing them to be part of a group, team, and family. It fosters unity among students and staff across grade levels and classrooms, while promoting positive behavior through a shared sense of community and culture. As we shared with students, while they have an assigned House, they are all part of the Mustang House, working together.
