Camp Letts 2019: Building Community & Making Memories
On October 17, our 6th grade classes loaded two charter buses to escape the hustle and bustle of Northern Virginia as they headed out on their annual trip to Camp Letts, located on a 219-acre peninsula off the Chesapeake Bay, overlooking 3 islands and a 2,600 acre preserve, in Edgewater, MD. It was here that they spent two days of technology-free relationship and community building surrounded by the great outdoors and immersed in the beautiful fall weather. Highlights included zip lining, archery, a successful campfire with silly songs and skits led by the students while making and eating yummy s'mores, team building (learning to collaborate to achieve common goals and pass a challenge) and plenty of cabin time which was essentially a big sleepover with time spent bonding together. From the looks of things fun was had by all! Many thanks to the teachers, staff and parents who helped make this years trip such a huge success and to Ms. Dews and Mrs. Sandler for the great pictures! As a side note, the parents and teachers would especially like to thank coffee for helping them survive the trip:)
