Thanks to the advocacy of WSES second grader, our students were able to participate in "A Walk in My Shoes." This program is designed to foster empathy and understanding by allowing students to experience the challenges faced by individuals with different abilities and conditions through activities. The Advisory Committee for Students with Disabilities (ACSD) awarded Olivia the First Class Award for "her efforts to raise awareness and promote inclusion for individuals with invisible disabilities and her desire to promote understanding and inclusion for all students at West Springfield Elementary School."
