New to WSES and want to make sure you are fully connected to our school community? Use this checklist to help you!

1. Visit our New Student Registration page for important enrollment information.
2. View the School Supply List for your child’s grade-level.
3. Stay up to date with what’s happening at West Springfield ES and FCPS and sign up for News You Choose. 
   • Under the Elementary Schools section: Select West Springfield ES to receive news and announcements from the school. You can also select to receive information from the West Springfield ES (PTA). 
   • Military-Connected Families can sign up to receive FCPS’s military families newsletter. Under the Family Engagement section: select Military Families.
4. Create a My SchoolBucks account to fund your child’s lunch account and pay for other school expenses.
5. Sign up for a Student Information System (SIS) Parent Account (SIS ParentVUE) to view your child’s attendance, grades, and assignments. You can also update your child’s Emergency Care Information.
6. Schoology Parent Accounts are accessed using the same login/password used for SIS ParentVUE. Through Schoology, parents are able to view their child’s courses, assignments, groups and calendar.
7. Review the WSES Parent Handbook for detailed information on school procedures and policies.
8. Get the Here Comes the Bus app to track your child’s bus location and to receive text/email alerts.  
9. Learn about and join the WSES PTA.
10. Connect with a WSES Parent Ambassador who is available to help welcome you and answer questions. We have Parent Ambassadors who speak Arabic, Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin), French, Korean, and Russian. We also have Parent Ambassadors who are military-connected.
11. Families new to FCPS boundaries (to include Military families) can visit the FCPS AAP page to learn more about advanced academics identification and placement.
